Poem by Sabrina Young
***
She sat alone
floating a scene
A river she couldn’t
control
her eyes were wide
unfeeling the pain
a smile she wore to
Cover her scars
Unaware the colors
Bled through
from within
the open wounds
Throb only to
remind her of where
she’d never roam again
She stood proud
With her broken wings
Lifeless at her side
and wiped
the years that
tears simply
can’t undo
