Ithaca – 647: TAO (MEN) – Maria Nivea ZAGARELLA (Sicily) / Isinalin sa wikang Filipino -Eden Soriano Trinidad & Translated from the Sicilian by Gaetano Cipolla

TAO

Ang umurong na dagat nagbalik
ng bangkay,
labis na dumi
walang pakinabang
sa mundong ito.

Baliw at naligaw
mga may sapat na gulang desperadong
lumisan,
mumunting walang muwang
ay walang magawa
maliliit na mga kamay
ay nanigas sa maginaw na gabi
na nagdala sa kanila sa kamatayan. ,

Mamamatay tao
laban sa kanilang sariling laman,
mamamatay laban sa kalupaan
na siyang nagpasuso sa kanila mula ng sila’y isilang.

Ang dagat wala ng sapat
na sisidlang yari sa dayami
upang tipunin ang bawat patak
ng mga luha ng paghihinagpis at pagdadalamhati
nitong nangalunod na mga katawan

MEN

The resigned sea gives back
the dead,
excessive straw,
useless,
upon this earth.

Crazy and lost
the desperate adults
depart,
the innocent little ones
can do nothing,
their little hands
frozen by the cold night
that brings them death.

Murderous men
against their own flesh,
murderous against the earth
that breast fed them since birth.

The sea no longer has
enough straw baskets
to collect drop after drop,
woes and laments
of this drowning bodies
