Poem by Vasilka HADJIPAPA
The prayer of an atheist
How I would like
to have my own personal god
beside me
wiping away my tears,
lulling me to sleep
with a fairytale
of an infinite, future galaxy –
through which I could walk
with my children
and their children too.
With neither a chamber for goodbyes
nor tears
…
Indeed, how I would like to have
beside me
such a merciful god.
