Poems by Shankar D Mishra
HOW CAN THIS WORLD BE MADE A HEAVEN?
This is so vast, rare and unique a world;
Gifted with rich mines of platinum, diamond and gold
Replete with lakes, springs, rivers, seas and oceans
Teemed with beautiful plants, creatures and mountains
Bestowed with miraculous science, technology and brains
Endowed with magical bikes, cars, buses, trains and planes!
Amenities are abundantly available at finger tips
Space is conquered by spacecrafts; water by ships.
Comfort, luxury and pleasure are accumulated in heaps
Tickets are booked before months for long distance trips
Diseases are disabled by novel, Nobel Researches
The world beyond is fetched in a jiffy by Net searches!
Yet, all the aforesaid are only for the privileged men
What does it matter to the poor, deprived children?
Do the deserts gain, if in the water bodies, it rains?
What do they gain if the Poles are cooled with fans?
Today, million stomachs are yet to be adequately fed
Today, million shelters are yet to be inevitably made
Today, million minds are yet to be indispensably taught
Today, million bitter battles are yet to be bravely fought
Today, million forests are yet to be imperatively planted
Today, million wants are yet to be benevolently granted
Today, million wounds are yet to be successfully healed
Today, million perpetrators are yet to be nabbed and stilled
Today, million men are yet to be saved from being cruelly killed
Today, million corruption cases are yet to be effaced and nilled
Today, million harmful ozone holes are yet to be urgently mended
Today, million culprits are yet to be duly punished and reprimanded
Today, million anti-humans are yet to be boldly, immediately jailed
Today, million innocent captives are yet to be released and bailed
Today, million pending, teasing issues are yet to be sensibly settled
Today, million puzzles are yet to be correctly solved and fizzled
Today, million dark clouds are yet to be removed and unloomed
Today, million smiles are yet to be blossomed and bloomed
Today, million under nourished engines are yet to be driven
Then only can this world be made for all a blissful a Heaven.

CURIOSITY
Ask a writer what curiosity is,
When his first creation is successfully published.
Ask a scientist what curiosity is,
When his invention or discovery is well accomplished.
Ask a lover what curiosity is,
When his beloved accepts his love, and is pleased.
Ask a player what curiosity is,
When his feats make his mates elated; his rivals teased.
Ask a maiden what curiosity is,
When she is engaged to her sweet man.
Ask a lady what curiosity is,
When she gives birth to a baby new born.
Ask a student what curiosity is,
When he tops the list of the examinees.
Ask an employee what curiosity is,
When he draws the first remuneration of his.
Ask an artiste what curiosity is,
When the audience applauds him with standing ovation.
Ask a C.M or P.M what curiosity is,
When he wins, in the House, a no-confidence Motion.
Ask a newly married bride what curiosity is,
When she is hugged and loved first time by her Endymion.
You ask yourself what curiosity is,
When you are declared only a one piece in a million.
Ask a farmer what curiosity is,
When his salty sweats yield sweet, golden beads.
Ask a lawyer what curiosity is,
When he acquits his client after he flawlessly pleads.
Ask a teacher what curiosity is,
When he sincerely shapes and moulds a society’s Fate.
Ask a doctor what curiosity is,
When his efforts eventually win over an imminent death.
Ask a beggar what curiosity is,
When he is fed with rice and dal to his heart’s content.
Ask a child what curiosity is,
When he is gifted with candies and teddies to his consent.
Ask parents what curiosity is,
When their children become role models for others.
Ask a country what curiosity is,
When her people glorify the honour and dignity of Hers.
Ask Mother Nature what curiosity is,
When Her treasuries are used for Universal peace.
Ask a divine seeker what curiosity is,
When he is blessed with eternal, ecstatic Bliss.
Ask a lovely bud what curiosity is,
When it grows to be a blossom, and is kissed by butterflies.
Ask a shower what curiosity is,
When its soothing touch does a parched earth please.
Ask the Spring what curiosity is,
When It turns with Its magic the world into a Paradise.
Ask a day what curiosity is,
When night recedes and the Sun danwns with a light prize.
Ask a bird what curiosity is,
When the cage is open, and its owner is fast asleep.
Ask a calf what curiosity is,
When it is set free to go to its mother and her udders sip.
Ask a gardener what curiosity is,
When his garden smiles and rejoices in the breeze.
Ask a night what curiosity is,
When the Full Moon scintillates the hills, planes and seas.
Ask Duty-Deity what curiosity is,
When He is embraced with love, devotion and praise.
Ask Life what curiosity is,
When It attains sweet Salvation, Its Ultimate Wage.

Curiosity..and a question are the most important…..waves….needed for the human existence….. A zest for life….
At every moment…..we are curious to know about something…..
We become impatient…till it is satisfied…
Sometimes…..this curious waiting last for hours and eben months and years !??
Curiosity for the future moment….is inevitable
The poet has done his best by giving countless examples…From
Mother s Beloved teacher student and many more……!!!!!
Thank you dearpoet for you and your…..ever flowing pen!??
In the poem the poet is very much coerned about humanity…..Be a human….
May not be……a kalpavriksha….which gives gifts who. Makes a request….
May not be a hanuman. a great divotee….. Who served Rama..selflessly…..
Bit at least be with your human normal good qualities.,….. to maintain a harmonious life for you and the society…..
Your examples ate very apt….
to make the poem. beautiful Shankar…
