Poem by Ibrahim Honjo
WHAT ABOUT TOMORROW
Today I am the one conflicting in me
I from the past
I from the present
I from the future
Wars are springing like mushrooms
Necks are broken
I from the past, am bleeding
I from the present, am bleeding
I from the future, am bleeding
In me today
Today in me
Cannons are roaring
Like the insides of a mountain
While earthquakes are going on
Sites of fire are burning after battles
And in me
I from the past
I from the present
I from the future
And nothing else
Winners leave and pass by with laurels
I with a curse
Who will bury me tomorrow?
