Poem by Rajashree Mohapatra
SAD SONG OF A BUDDING VIRGIN
In the innocence of a girl hidden a graceful woman
Whose womb in future shapes a man .
How strange is this weary world !
She is never considered for a reward .
Life of little angels grow so pathetic !
Force the unkind hearts , so barbaric !
Pleasure muses to see them dancing undressed
Brothel to brothel her story never ends .
Our society turns a blind eye
Virgin prostitutes suffer to die
Who would dare to give them justice ?
Who will stop such inhuman practice ?
Oh Angel !
Through you , the bonds are ever new
Though neglected still honour few
How can we call you are low !
One day before you , world will bow.
