THE WINTER SUN / Poem by Lily Swarn

Poem by Lily Swarn
The sun had mercurial moods
In the winters
He slyly scampered off
Like a truant schoolboy
To hide in his heavenly pagodas
The sun loved the game
The clouds played with him
Covering his rakish hat
With a tassel of fluff
He patiently waited for his glamorous friend
Who tip toed in after dusk
On a silvery chariot
Not too different from Cinderella’s
The sun was benevolent
He gave away his own light
To the moon
But wisely kept the warmth
For himself
One never knows when
One might need it!!

  1. Lovely lines and concept. Very nicely you have connected the proven fact that the Sun gives light to Moon, with your lines . Best part of it is giving a philosophical touch at the end ! Very much appreciated ! Thanks !
