If, we were! (Se, ishim!) – Poem by Elinda MARKU / Translated by Raimonda MOISIU

Poem by Elinda MARKU

If, we were!

Back when, I’ve believed
That I had some weight,
Like a featherweight,
It seemed to me that I drowned,
In the deep of your shade,
Stunned and tempted,
In this shade that scatters in light
Seeing with our eyes shut,
In this shade that turns into wave,
Feeling, never even touched
In this shade that turns on sound,
Knowing, never even talked
Now,
I bring to my mind,
Remembering myself,
Back somehow, I’ve trusted,
If, we were!

Se, ishim!

Dikur kam kujtuar,
Se kisha një farë peshe,
Peshën e puplës,
M’dukej se mbytesha,
Në dendësinë e territ tënd
Heshtak, tundues,
Në atë terrin që të shndërron në dritë
Me u pa symbyllt,
Në atë terrin që të shnderron në valë
Me u ndje pa u prek,
Në atë terrin qe të shnderron në za,
Me u ditë pa u folë!
Tani,
Kujtoj veten time,
Se si dikur kam kujtuar,
Se, ishim!
