Wetlands / Poem by Marcela Villar M

Wetlands

I’ll be right back,
when the birds decide to stop by and stay for a little while.
Perhaps by then water will cover the desiccated land,
and ancient grass will grow green and golden.
Then flocks of angels will camouflage the heavens
as if Van Gogh’s face were flying on their wings.
