The Lady of Dawn / Poem by Lily Swarn

Poem by Lily Swarn
The Lady of Dawn
It breaks a few hearts and mends some
It lights lamps in Heaven’s secret chambers
It trapezes down from the chariots of fire
Drapes Aurora in shimmering vestments
And inflames the desires of the banished
The drowsy birds set up a Song
To serenade the new queen of the marquee
The Mallipu flowers in her hair have wilted
For its time for temple doors to open
The Rangoli at her door is sacrosanct
It welcomes only pure devotees
It’s Dawn leisurely strolling down
It’s the ambrosial hour of love divine
