5th of April / Poem by Eden Soriano Trinidad

Poem by Eden Soriano Trinidad

5th of April

A day when mom heard the first cry of her “hija”
the father so proud of his little miss
should I name her Tara?
for she brightens the life upon her birth…

A star that twinkles alone change the path
as the wind blows warm air
the mango leaves murmur
how sweet is April summer!

The nearby sea waves dance
the seashells grinding with dunes
the cuckoo sings any lyrics of her choice
frolicking with her voice.

Green meadows rains with wildflowers
a tiny Shangri-la amidst imperfection
she continued to dream unexhausted
thorny grasses along the pathways

A garden with estrange nightingales
playing along with her dreams
cause the bard to sing
with so much grateful feelings.

Today, I celebrate my life on this earth
Sharing to others in my little way
I had donated for a cause
For that is my life’s purpose.
