A FRACTURED CITADEL / Poem by Lily Swarn

Poem by Lily Swarn

A FRACTURED CITADEL

A fractured citadel my obsidian heart
Torn rough edges cooling in haste

Glassy lustre reflecting iridescent glow
Embers of golden sheen flaming lava lungs

Volcanic eruptions unpredictable
Fanning infernos below secret craters

The fortress crumbling with punctured gates
Not a soul breathing in ominous silences

Lapis Lazuli winking its blue
Through inky corridors of Royal lineage

Foot soldiers March to a martial tune
Red blood corpuscles clinging to arteries

Rocks harden in irreverent shapes
Climbing mountains of humungous form

A fractured citadel my obsidian heart
Torn rough edges cooling in haste
