Poems by Margaret O’Driscoll

My Portal

An ocean of salty tears I’ve cried
I never dreamt I’d climb that hill
Clouds are clearing, the sun beckons
I see my portal, my mind is still
From this lush launch pad here on high
See me leap, spread my wings…see me fly!

Prayer

Kneeling, head bowed in deep devotion
my forehead in holy oils blessed
I close my eyes, allow my soul surrender
beseeching an answer to my quest
prayer is my most passionate poem
countless times I’ve been put to the test.
