Masks / Poem by Lily Swarn

Poem by Lily Swarn

Masks

He took off his mask
Made from customised cotton
The one he used to protect himself from the pandemic

But tightened the strings of the invisible mask that he had been wearing since ages

The grimace like artificial smile
Hiding his sarcastic smirk
The bared teeth grotesque grin
To camouflage his evil intents

And then he walked away
Into the flaming sunset
Behind the migrant labour
With his over priced dark glasses.
