Evolved Before The Bee—

Layer on layer of Magnolia,
veil against the light of

themselves; they dance
between grace and chaos,

midair – yawning-open,
inside out, into a soft tart

explosion of thick scent.
I want to breathe into my

heart-this flower of self,
before they start to tumble

out of bud and fall to the
ground like a benediction;

Flowers of the ancients,
noble and dignified
