What I Will Never Do / Poem by Marcela Villar M

Poem by Marcela Villar M

What I Will Never Do

Now, if I write all the words
in perfect harmony,
or better yet,
if one of the words I write is harmony,
and then I edit it,
again, and again.
And I delete it,
just to rewrite it.
Or maybe I choose another, a prettier one,
a more pleasant than harmony,
a bigger, more stunning one.
But it doesn’t matter, really.
If it doesn’t fit, then I do the same,
I reject it, I erase it again,
and I look for another one. A replacement.
Because in the end, to the liking of the academics,
to the perfect arrangement, I call it a poem.
