Empty Home / Poem by Debra Sasak Ross

Poem by Debra Sasak Ross

Empty Home

This house is empty.
Does not feel like a home.
No conversation.
No laughter.
Just an empty shell
Of what it once was.
If the walls could talk,
They would scream.
Family reunions.
And sparklers.
Children and grandchildren
Now not nary a call
A visit,
A text,
Or even a phone call.
No more games.
No more puzzles.
No more hugs.
No more cuddles.
No more laughter.
No more joy.
No more anything.
This is an empty home.
