SNAKE / Poem by Bozena Helena Mazur-Nowak

Poem by Bozena Helena Mazur-Nowak
You wrap yourself around me like a snake
Directing to my ear hissed spells
You have bitten me in my neck with your teeth
And injected into my skin a drop of venom
I lived flabby, fainted. Except of you,
I no longer saw the world
You were for me night and day
Were autumn, winter, spring and summer
Today only a scar reminds me of you
Two tiny holes on my pale neck
On my pillow, you left your molting skin
I am slowly coming back to life.
