Remnants Of Time / Poem by Sabrina Young

Remnants Of Time

Diving to find pieces of me
hidden by time , pitching stones
that were thrown to hide my
identity
Reflections I find tarnished
beside stained memories
But still , remain my
possessions …
from another life , just remnants of time.
I notice my reputation ,
alone in a corner , covered in
accusations , true or false , laughing while tossing the coin, judged by skeletons that sway in the dark.
The deeper I climb more treasures I find , my roots that made me whole , a lifetime of growth beneath the soil , lifeline to my soul .
My waters run deep , finding a
purpose alone under the stone that was cast to kill me , death
defied , emitting the light of peace that surround
the words that saved me.
