Mirror, Mirror / Poem by Sher Chandley

Poem by Sher Chandley

Mirror, Mirror

Do you hear
The cries of my soul
Do you see
My eyes blinded by tears
For I walk alone
I have no gold
To be wasteful or miserly
My feet unshod
Naked to truth
Tattered clothes
Of patient hardship
Who hears my pleas ?
I offer the star studded night
The song of birds and wind
The clean freshness of dew
Who heeds my call ?
Is your true image lost ?
I tell you friend
If you wipe that mirror
Deep , deep down
I am truly yourself .
