Goodbye without a kiss / Poem by Margaret Kowalewska

Goodbye without a kiss

Your image pulsing in my eyes
How beautiful you are
Your outline in the corridor
teasing glimpse of dimmed light

I want to hold you but I am afraid
that this moment will burst
like a bubble made of soap
taking magic away

It is time to say goodbye
without knowing your kiss
that I pictured in my mind
I was brave in my dream
seducing your lips

Now I miss your voice
ringing in my ears
caressing my memory
in my reveries

Now alone, I recall
every color of its tone
blooming with
summer flowers
at your lonesome shore

I miss you in every moment
except when I imagine us
falling for each other
in the silence of dimmed lights
