Poem by Pushmaotee Subrun
A strong urge to sleep,
To rest my tired eyes.
Sadness overtakes me,
Seems to numb my mind,
And slumber my spirit,
And yet there is so much to be thankful for.
The roses are blossoming ravishingly
The birds are chirping merrily,
My auditory sense is cheered by the birds’ twittering
My eyesight is soothed by the brilliant flowers,
The mountains, the green dales and valleys
The vast expanse of blue sky,
And my spirit awakens to bountiful Nature.
My unreasoning dull lethargic self,
Wake up, listen, admire, breathe,
Breathe the air of serenity,
Relax in the universal spherical music.
And be thankful to be surrounded,
By so much beauty, so many blessings.
