You, which me / Poem by Rosa Maria Santos

Poem by Rosa Maria Santos

You, which me

My soul,
Your smile calms me down,
You make me feel like a woman
Not some mess

It’s my soul
When the night falls,
The day is gone
And in your arms
I find the peace I need.

It’s my soul
When in silence
Memories come to mind
And cry the sorrows of the past,
When you were by my side.

It’s my soul
When the grey day
Ruin the moment,
The clouds pass
And you come and hold me.

It’s my soul
Moment after moment,
You live in my mind
And though absent
You are present
In a heart that awaits you,
Which dream or chimera
That gives reason to my living.

It’s my soul
Because you are me,
I am you,
And as one
Feel you always
In my indifferent world.
