Tickle … CUSP / Poem by Elizabeth Ongpauco

Poem by Elizabeth Ongpauco

Tickle …

O, fly the coop
I pray you, continue the melody
I dream about the first time we informally bumped into
On that day you helped me buy all the bulbs I needed

You sent me your first message
On your birthday, from afar we both smiled
Nearer and nearer, two more steps
You wrapped your arms around my thin build

Laid gentle kisses on my cheeks, and on my forehead
You did ran your fingers through my hair
Just us eye to eye
Just us, the intractable dyad

Heaven groks
My tears of blood evokes
