Poem by Jagdish Prakash

My body, my mind
Beyond them is the daily grind
I have pawned my body to a thing called work
Eight full hours of din and dirt
Only with machines my thoughts flirt
Mind is a sealed chamber
Containing raw poems
Written on a grey winter night
With words borrowed from your passionate smiles
To which I have no access
My body and mind are no longer mine
Which I neither possess nor define.
Living on borrowed time
I fret and whine
Craving for my body and mind
To bring them back to Kovalam beach
Where I could pick my poems again
From the sealed chamber
And recite them to berserk wind
Dipping my feet under the rising waves
On a full moon night.
