MY RIVER RAVES A SYMPHONY / Poem by Kichime  Elisha Philibus

Poem by Kichime  Elisha Philibus

MY RIVER RAVES A SYMPHONY

So embroiled in the raving sweetness of
the blues
Feverish elation plays her symphonic
tingles
That overwhelms me whole
With the opium
Of her potion;

With a hanging mist
hovering over my heart’s blind
Blurring my presence
Of the present
And hardly discernible
Is this wrestling engulfment
Of the hurtless heaves.

Ahead she weaves more
her symphonic sizzles
Raving my river flow
That I had rather been left alone
To drown hurtlessly
through the waves
Of her endearing constriction
Of the eccentric cocoon ;

Entrancing it is;
This opium poppy
That is the symphonic tingle
That rivets the vibrating accordion
Of the coded chords of accord
That soothes the singeing warmth
Of my heart…

And my river raves
a riveting symphony.
